  1. Really, always a pleasure to come across someone new with knowledge and a passionate interest in ‘the music’. Very impressive list of vocal talent reviewed to date. Might I venture to add a couple of names you may wish to review in the future? When people ask me could I list several female soul singers that I absolutely love then one of the first names out is Brenda Holloway and I am sure her name will be familiar to you. Not far behind is Little Ann although it is pitiful that her collection comes down to just one album ‘Deep Shadows’ which features the track ‘Who are you trying to fool’, and one track ‘One way street’ which was released after she moved studios.
I’ll be sure to listen in now I have found your site. What did we ever do before the internet ? It’s truly great to be able find like-minds anywhere in the world. Take care.

    1. Hi Stephen,
Thank you so much for your generous comments. It’s always a pleasure to hear from other soul music enthusiasts. As you say, the internet has really enabled us to share that enthusiasm.
Thank you also for your suggestions. Brenda Holloway was surely one of Motown’s biggest stars and finest singers, and on the opposite side of the fame coin, Little Ann was of course a relatively obscure but highly talented artist.
I hope you enjoy the episodes in the series that you have yet to hear, and that you stay tuned for the new fall season which should commence in four or five weeks.
      All the best,
      Greg
